Heart & Soul Photography Featured in Move Up Magazine

Heart & Soul Photography • January 6, 2025

Heart & Soul Photography was recently featured in Move Up magazine, and we couldn't be more proud to be recognized among the talented local photographers in Northwestern Alberta.

Being part of the Alberta community is at the heart of what we do, especially when it comes to providing exceptional sports photography across the province.

Here are Some Key Highlights from the Article

Move Up magazine’s article highlighted our 15-year journey starting from a small home setup to a full-service studio. They also recognized our unique approach to sports photography and how it stands out in Alberta.

Our Journey

One of the biggest milestones in our story was opening our Peace River studio.

“Having a studio has always been a dream of mine. It’s been the best decision I’ve ever made.”- Amy

At first, we operated out of our home, striving to meet local photography needs. Over time, we evolved into a thriving business that offers a wide range of services—while always staying true to our love for the communities of Northwestern Alberta.

Bringing Sports Photography to Life

At Heart & Soul Photography, we bring a fresh approach tosports photography in Northwestern Alberta. Using smoke effects, creative lighting, and professional backdrops, we aim to make every athlete feel special—whether they’re five years old or part of a team.

“I want everyone to feel like they’re getting professional sports photos, no matter their age.” - Amy

The mobile studio setup we bring with us, along with the creative techniques provide a fun and unique experience for both individuals and sports teams across the region.

Commitment to Learning

Our dedication to ongoing education has included things like traveling to Chicago to seek mentorship to help us grow or investing in new equipment and refining skills, we believe our growth directly benefits our clients.

“I love learning and investing in my skills and in my business.” - Amy

Future Goals

We’re excited about the road ahead—especially our plan to make the studio space available for rentals which would give other photographers access to professional backdrops and equipment.

“Offering this [studio rental] is important to me because when I first started, I would have given anything to access backdrops and all the different equipment I have now.” -Amy

We hope to foster even more creativity in the local community by potentially offering photography lessons for kids in the future.

Capturing Memories Across Small-Town Alberta and Beyond

We’re proud to be part of Northwestern Alberta’s small-town communities surrounding the Peace River area, but it doesn’t stop there. We travel all across even to the bigger city centers like Edmonton, and Calgary.

“No one else in this region does what I do with sports photos…a one-of-a-kind experience—my clients always love it!” - Amy

And don’t forget that we work with families in all stages of life from headshots to family portraits or maternity sessions.

Check out our portraits service page for more details on how we can help you preserve those cherished memories.
