Our photography journey began almost two decades ago when I, Amy, was a new mother to my own athlete looking for a creative outlet in Calgary. With a camera in hand and an adventurous baby girl, I discovered a love for capturing life’s highlights. This new found love led me to a man named Tom and he started coming along to my photoshoots! His quick learning and steadfast support quickly turned into a shared creative outlet. Making us a dynamic duo; like Yzerman and Fedorov or Sundin and Mogilny!!
Today we’re a husband and wife team specializing in sports photography for clubs throughout the Peace River and all over Alberta. In 2014, we started working with some of the sport teams in town, that was our TSN turning point, we were hooked! After working on our craft for a few years we sought out Brad Deel of Brad Deel Sports and Rocktown Media so that we bring an elevated experience to sports photography! We learnt new techniques and strategies that make our athletes we work with feel like professionals. Our favorite thing about doing sports photography is hearing and seeing the reactions of the athletes' faces when they see their photos in camera at the sessions. Such a rewarding feeling!
A touch of fun is essential to our photography. Our “Smoke machine” adds a dramatic flair to our sessions, always a crowd pleaser with the athletes. Legend has it, that it is voice activated! While we are very united on the photography front we enjoy a friendly rivalry as Tom cheers for the Toronto Maple Leafs and I am a die hard Detroit Red Wings fan! We would love to photograph a game between both teams one day until then, we’re focused on capturing highlights in Peace river and Alberta!
